I ran across this entry, with this quote, today as I was reading through the Ninth Wave Designs blog.

“The buying of more books than one can read is nothing less than the soul reaching towards infinity, and this passion is the only thing that raises us above the beast that perish.” — Alfred Edward Newton

Obviously there is another bibliophile out there who could be our twin. I also think Sarah, at least, would agree with their cat on the subject of reading and books. As for Donovan, well, maybe he’s inclined to agree with Pearl the dog, but I’m not sure he could put it quite so eruditely. I’m also gleaning some good ideas from reading through the site — let’s see what happens with them.

Break Time!!!

Hurrah! Exams are graded, grades are posted, I can spend the next 2 1/2 weeks NOT thinking about work. Well, I should write up my two-months-overdue annual report B.S. over the break, but I bet I don’t. That can wait until January.

Instead, I’m going to

  • sleep
  • catch up on my reading
  • update Art of the Firebird, particularly the gallery area
  • sleep
  • get DH’s computers working properly
  • melt a bunch of glass
  • straighten out my studio
  • sleep
  • clean off my desk and office bookcase
  • do some organizing and cleaning in the rest of the place
  • oh, did I mention sleep?
