So I’m trying to get some feedback from the current student cohort by making a questionnaire a part of the midterm. I created some more concrete questions than the standard evaluations use, and asked for some specific suggestions by using open-ended questions. It was The Offspring’s suggestion, actually, when I took him to lunch last Thursday, showed him the evaluations, and picked his brain. Ha! That was the best $6.50 (approximately) that I’ve spent in a while!

Hopefully by making it anonymous, plus giving them ten points extra credit automatically for filling it out, I’ll get SOMETHING useful from it. I’m not sure if what is needed is a change in the content of the class, in the mechanics of the class, or just in student perceptions…but I need to do something for sure.
