Day 2 was a bit disappointing. I did do better on Saturday than on Friday, but not by much. From talking to customers and to other vendors, I understand that the attendance was way down from what they usually expect. I don’t think the competition from the other show at the Galleria hurt it too much, because the real bead-a-holics were going to visit both shows. I did go to the other show on Sunday, and the vendors there said that attendance hadn’t been good there either.
Here’s my booth, just before the show opened on Saturday. I did get quite a few compliments on my display, which made me feel good since it’s a totally not-professional, made-from-what-I-had display.
I did give out a lot of business cards, take a number of names for my mailing list, and make some good contacts. That will help with my upcoming auction push. I also did a LOT of “pimping” for The Annealer Boutique as a bead-auction alternative to eBay. It’s all about marketing myself, and getting a name for myself, so the show was certainly worth it for the exposure.
